Blessed

Here’s another from the drafts folder from May 2022 that I’m not sure why I haven’t posted before now…

The blessed sign in this photo speaks truth on so many levels!

First of all, I am blessed to have the amount of healing I have now had to be able to plant these flowers and clean up my entry area!

Secondly, the flowers themselves are a blessing that I purchased with a gift certificate from last year’s teacher appreciation week!

The stone at the front was a wedding gift from a sweet former coworker. It may have suffered a little over the years, but still represents a lot to me:

  • For instance, while it may be broken, it still can show what it was made to show. Even when we are broken, or sometimes BECAUSE we are broken, we can show the glory and grace of Jesus Christ to a world that desperately needs to see Him.

•It also represents my marriage to my music man! Just about three weeks from today would have been our 19th anniversary. In our human plans, we were supposed to live to 85 years old so that we could celebrate our 50th anniversary. But God had different plans and His ways are always higher than our ways!

•It shows that someone took the time to make a personalized gift that made me feel special. We can all take the time to make others feel special, even if we don’t have the talent to create something like this. I need to remember that.

Finally, I am blessed to be alive. To live a life that impacts others and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. To pray for others and to be blessed to be the subject of others’ prayers.

Tonight will be the first band banquet I attend without Darin K. Johns. It won’t be easy to be there, but it will be important to be there. After attending a band rehearsal and the spring concert a couple of weeks ago, it hit me how much those band kids and directors and I have shared. How, because of the tragedy we experienced together, we have a connection that we would not have otherwise had. It’s good for me to be around them and I hope it will be good for them to have me there. Please keep us lifted in prayer.

“Father, may You continue to be glorified. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

I am TRULY blessed beyond measure!
